Condiment Dawn Recipe Salad Dressing Tartar Sauce

January has been cold and rainy and after drinking one too many hot chocolates, we really crave for some tropical flavored food. Using our Jam of the Month- DAWN, we put together two flavorful condiment recipes. It surely will make the winter days taste a lot like summertime. 


FRIED SHRIMP + DAWN TARTAR SAUCE 

Fried Shrimp with pineapple jam tartar sauce

Fried Shrimp Ingredients: 
6 large shrimps or prawns (peeled, deveined, and tail tip left intact)
Salt and pepper
1/4 cup of flour
1 egg (beaten)
3/4 cups of panko or breadcrumbs
3 cups of Oil 
5 bamboo skewers

DAWN Tartar Sauce Ingredients: 
3 tbsp of DAWN (Pineapple + Grand Marnier Jam)
1 1/2 tbsp of mayonnaise  


Directions:    
Place DAWN and mayonnaise in a small bowl and mix well.

Skewer each shrimp with a bamboo skewer from the tail section forward. 
Mix together flour, salt, and pepper on a plate. Dip shrimp skewers in flour mixture, then dredge in a beaten egg. Coat shrimp skewers with panko and shake off the excess. 
Heat oil to 350F degree. When oil is ready, carefully place 3 skewers in oil and deep fry it for 2.5-3 minutes or until golden. 
Drain skewers on a paper towel and serve warm with DAWN tartar sauce. 

SALAD + DAWN DRESSING

Turn dawn, a pineapple jam, into a delicious salad dressing

DAWN Dressing Ingredients: 
2 tbsp of DAWN (Pineapple + Grand Marnier Jam)
2 tbsp of olive oil
2 tbsp of lemon juice (or vinegar of your choice)
Salt and pepper to taste

 

Directions:    
In a small bowl, whisk DAWN, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper until emulsified. 
Assemble your favorite mixed greens salad with fruits and/or nuts on a plate and drizzle DAWN dressing on top.
